NEWSROOM
Associate Producer (Full-Time, Reg.): KDFW/Fox4 currently has an opening for an Associate Producer. Responsibilities include writing stories and teases, editing video, and creating graphics and supers for newscasts, myfoxdfw.com and associated news partners. The position works closely with producers to help develop and format newscasts and communicates continuously with Reporters, Photographers, the Assignment Desk, Managers and other applicable employees or outside sources regarding story developments and changes. Will fill-in produce as needed and/or produce newscasts as scheduled. Facilitate communication with Producers, Directors, Reporters and Photographers during newscasts regarding live shots and story development.
Associate Producers must have the ability to overcome anticipated and unexpected obstacles when putting together newscasts. Unexpected obstacles include, but are not limited to technical problems, new developments with stories, breaking news, logistical problems, and many other items. Ideal candidate must be able to work under tight deadlines and have the ability to work with everyone in the newsroom and communicate clearly and concisely. Strong knowledge of legal and ethical parameters for mass media is essential. Strong working knowledge of the technical aspects of television news production required, including digital and web-based newsgathering tools. Ideal candidate must be able to use newsroom computer systems, including Avid iNews and Avid search, editing, and graphics programs.
EDUCATION: 4 –year college degree required/emphasis in Communication and Journalism preferred
EXPERIENCE: 2-3 years producing in television news required. 2 years in medium to major market preferred.
Reporter (Full-Time, Reg.): Reporters provide original news content for KDFW FOX 4, myfoxdfw.com, and associated media partners by successfully accomplishing the following responsibilities. Reporters are responsible for gathering news information, writing news stories, and doing taped and live interviews and reports for KDFW FOX 4, myfoxdfw.com and associated media partners. Must contribute to social media efforts. Reporters initiate research and enterprise stories. They are responsible for updating and following up on stories and communicating with managers and assignment editors about past, current and future stories. May Anchor on a part time or fill-in basis. Must complete required administrative tasks in a timely and accurate manner. Perform other duties as assigned.
Must have a broad working knowledge of police procedures, the court system, and municipal, state and federal government operations. Must have strong knowledge of legal and ethical parameters of reporting for mass media. Ability to work under stressful conditions and deadlines is a must. Maintaining a strong roster of contacts and sources is required. Strong working knowledge of the technical aspects of television news production required, including digital and web-based newsgathering tools. Must be able to use newsroom computer systems, and possess specific expertise in research and computer-assisted reporting. Must be a strong writer and communicator and have the ability to shoot and edit video. A professional appearance is essential. Must annunciate clearly, and maintain a clear delivery during both live and taped reports. Bi-lingual Spanish-English a plus.
EDUCATION: 4 –year college degree required/emphasis in Communications and Journalisms preferred
EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years experience in a medium to major market.
Reporter/Producer (Full-Time, Reg.): KDFW/Fox4 currently has an opening for a Reporter/Producer. Reporter/Producers are responsible for researching, interviewing, writing, video editing, producing graphics and presenting live and recorded reports and segments for KDFW FOX 4, myfoxdfw.com and associated media partners. Reporter/Producers must have extensive knowledge of the Internet, websites, blogs and social media, and be capable of quickly processing information and relaying it in an entertaining succinct manner. Strong research skills and thorough knowledge of current events are mandatory. Must be technically adept, capable of video editing and using electronic graphic systems, and have experience with website Content Management Systems. Experience with Avid Newscutter, Anystream Agility, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Media Manager and other web-based and digital newsgathering tools is a plus. Excellent writing, spelling and grammar skills, and knowledge of AP Style are required.
Reporter/Producer must be quick, confident, and capable of interacting well with other on-air personnel in live news situations. Must be energetic, have a clear, credible delivery style and maintain a professional appearance. Must have a clear understanding of legal and ethical guidelines for mass media. Assignments Desk Editor (Full-Time, Reg.): KDFW currently has an opening for an Assignments Desk Editor. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, research and select news stories by checking and reading multiple sources including, news wires, websites, newspapers, scanners, and email. Also responsible for making beat check phone calls to police and other government agencies. Must develop reliable sources to help in obtaining and confirming information for newscasts. Secure and organize elements for newscasts such as electronic audio and video files, photos and documents. Must have broad working knowledge of online data bases as well as broad working knowledge of court and police procedures Write and publish stories for myfoxdfw.com. Coordinate and dispatch crews to planned and breaking news events. Work closely with reporters to develop stories and story ideas. Answer viewer calls and emails and speak with community contacts. Perform other duties as assigned.

Executive Producer (Full-Time, Reg.): KDFW currently has an opening for an Executive Producer. The Executive Producer oversees all aspects of our 4 ½ hours morning newscast. The Executive Producer will guide daily editorial direction and helps plan and oversee guest bookings and segment ideas and development. The position will oversee Producers, Associate Producers, Anchors and Reporters in the selection and formatting of stories. Responsible for approving scripts, teases and graphics as well as helping coordinate technical and logistical elements of Good Day. Responsible for writing employee evaluations and in conjunction with Human Resources, handling all employee issues within the department.
A four (4) year degree is required with an emphasis in communications or journalism preferred. Minimum of five (5) years producing experience in Top 30 market including morning show producing experience. Two (2) years management experience strongly preferred. Ideal candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. Must be a strong leader and communicator and possess good time management skills. Good editorial judgment and understanding the legal and ethical parameters for mass media is essential. FINANCE
A Bachelors degree from an accredited college/university with major or concentration in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline is required. A CPA or CMA license is preferred. A minimum of four (4) years of general accounting experience is strongly preferred. Must possess a good working knowledge of fundamental accounting principles, have good math skills, be proficient in Microsoft Office with a heavy emphasis in Excel and operate a 10-key by touch.
